Write for us!

by Richard Carmichael

Are you a talented writer with a dedicated interest in something that our community of readers might be interested in too? Could be anything from outdoor adventure camps for kids, to yoga for small engine mechanics or the art of Zen fly fishing for Grandparents, as long as it is relevant to parenting, of interest to dads, is helpful for families, a positive reflection on real life with something for everyone to chew on and think about for a while.

We’re always looking for good writers. No, you don’t actually have to be a Dad – but honestly, if you don’t like kids, you’re just being silly and should probably stop writing anyway.

At this time we are a small but growing community of highly engaged and active dads without much to offer in terms of compensation. Nothing in fact—except that we have readers in 145 countries all over the world and all of them are interested in being better dads. Most of us are just doing the best we can to raise happy, healthy kids who care about the world we live in and the communities around us.

If you are a seasoned professional, prolific blogger or an aspiring writer and want to take part in this exciting project and get your name out there, this could be a great opportunity for you. Your name and bio will be included on the pages of the site and connected with each article you publish. Who knows (unlike all of those who wrote for the Huffington Post), one day you might even get paid for your efforts. It’s in the master plan, but it largely depends on how well we do together as a group of dedicated people working hard to advance the cause of fathers, families and communities everywhere.

Eventually we do hope to include our writers/bloggers in a revenue sharing program where we can pay out a percentage of advertisement revenue produced by the articles written and presented here. We hope it won’t be too long before we sort out the details of that and strike some deals – but we are a small community and need to work hard and cover a lot of ground to grow big enough to get the kind of traffic we need to generate the interest from corporate sponsors and the like. We are working on it, and need people like you to dive in and help out to make it great. If you, or someone you know might make a good fit for us, perhaps we should connect. Send us an e-mail.

In any event, if you’re interested in writing for HeadsUp Dad, we ask that you contact us directly telling us a little bit about yourself, what makes you special and what you would like to write about and we can get back to you soon with more information.

Thanks for your interest!
